BSCAN

The BSCAN block allows the JTAG interface to be extended to the scan chain defined by the internal USER.

ChipScope and PicoBlaze loader use this function, which is why you see BSCAN blocks appear in the device utilization report when using these functions.

You can use the internal USER scan chain and custom logic to read or write Block RAM, and then you need to develop custom software code that runs on the PC to perform this operation.
