Virtex UltraScale+ VU57P Available in Mass Production!

Last year, Xilinx introduced the VU57P, a "unique" high-speed addition to the company's production-proven Virtex® UltraScale+™ HBM FPGA family. The VU57P device is now available in volume production.

The Virtex UltraScale+ VU57P FPGA is built using the IC and packaging technology that Xilinx has mastered over the years. Using the modular UltraScale™ architecture and 3rd generation Stacked Silicon Interconnect (SSI) technology, Xilinx has combined its in-production Virtex UltraScale+ 58G PAM4 FPGAs with Virtex UltraScale+ HBM FPGAs to bring the VU57P to market. The VU57P FPGA incorporates a powerful set of features that make it ideal for the most compute- and memory-intensive applications in data centers, wired communications, and test and measurement.

The first choice for bandwidth-intensive work

With integrated HBM, the Virtex UltraScale+ VU57P FPGA breaks through critical memory bottlenecks and power challenges, increasing memory bandwidth by a factor of 20 while consuming 75% less power than discrete standard memories such as DDR4. It combines power-efficient computing capabilities with extremely high memory bandwidth of up to 460GB/s, while utilizing the latest PAM4 high-speed transceivers to achieve double the transfer rate of mainstream 25G transceivers.

Unique to the Virtex UltraScale+ HBM FPGA is the integrated HBM controller and AXI port switches that provide continuous memory access to the entire 16G HBM. It consumes only 4W of power and saves 250,000 LUTs, 370,000 FFs compared to soft IP implementations of competing FPGAs.

In addition, the VU57P FPGA offers a range of integrated high-speed connectivity such as 100G Ethernet with RS-FEC modules, 150G Interlaken, PCIe® Gen4, and more, helping to simplify design efforts and speed time to market.

These features make the VU57P FPGA a top choice for bandwidth-intensive workloads that require high-speed data throughput, high-performance processing, high bandwidth and highly contiguous memory.
