I just started contacting FPGA and found that there are several companies producing it, but their development environment is different. Is there anyone who can talk about the FPGA of these two companies?

The concept of FPGA was actually first proposed by Lattice, but due to its high-level decision-making errors, Lattice products once withdrew from the FPGA market, and they are now in a catching-up position. Lattice is currently in the high-end market and has completely withdrawn. Therefore, Lattice's competitive products are not seen in Xilinx's V5~V7 and Altera's S4~S5.
In the low-end market, in recent products (ECP2/3/4), the advantages of Lattice products are very obvious (high cost performance), and they are very competitive with Xilinx and Altera. Especially on FPGAs with multiple SerDes, the product price directly kicks out the other two. At the same time, the current SerDes of Lattice is mainly 3.2Gbps (ECP2/3), which is at a disadvantage in the communication market. Its current ECP4 series, SerDes can reach 6Gbps, which has been improved. In addition, Laittice's EPLD and ispPAC chips are currently widely used and highly competitive.
Therefore, comparing Lattice and Altera, it mainly depends on which field you are applying in. Cost/index/performance need to be considered comprehensively. In addition, I need to say in particular that the comparison of the two EDA tools, Lattice's Diamond is really not very useful, especially the synthesis tool, because Synplify is not well supported, resulting in poor comprehensive compilation results. I don't know what the latest version is, but I got 1.4 software at the beginning of the year. Now the version seems to be 1.5, and the official website probably hasn't been released yet.

Lattice is really low-end, cost-saving to use, anyway, our company is like this.
