So many IP cores already in existence, why still need to write HDL?

  The IP core is not a panacea and cannot meet all needs.

  Try to use closed-source IP cores as little as possible. If there is a problem, this black box may make the product difficult to produce.

  A deeper understanding of the lower level can better use the higher level. This rule can be applied to all programming languages.
